For the Love of Food

With its many restaurants, local producers and gourmet events, Sherbrooke is a top gourmet destination! The city is bursting with flavour, and you can discover local foods inspired by products from here and abroad.

Sherbrooke’s Brewers

Sherbrooke knows beer. Home of Quebec's first microbrewery, the trend has taken off in Sherbrooke over the past years. Beer lovers will love Sherbrooke's Craft Beer Tour. For those who like to party with beer, there is the Festibiere and Les Grands Crus, which come back every year. These two events promote not only regional beers but also local foods and beer-food matchings that are simply divine!

Psst! Since beer photos on Instagram are always popular, use #Sherbeer without moderation.

The Restaurant Street

Notice to foodies: Sherbrooke is a real gourmet city with more than 400 restaurants. Are you coming to Sherbrooke and want to see all the different options? Off to Wellington Street, which is the heart of Sherbrooke's restaurant scene. There is something for everyone: Lebanese, Mexican, Italian, French, Vietnamese, Vegan…all made with delicious products from the region!

Wellington Street has more than 20 restaurants and 6 bars, not including those found close by on King and Frontenac. During the summer, patios literally invade the street and create a relaxed atmosphere. After your meal, slowly digest while exploring the historic neighbourhood. You will discover gourmet boutiques and warm cafés.

Drink Really Local

The Halte des Pèlerins Vineyard is located in Sherbrooke and offers both an urban and country experience. Visitors are accompanied by wine lovers who reveal their wine producing secrets and the history of the site. You will learn about Quebec’s wine scene while tasting the city’s only locally produced wines. The Halte des Pèlerins is the first urban vineyard in Quebec, and also the first to welcome families with its fun and friendly setting!

Avid Gourmet Lovers

Are you always hungry? In addition to the many microbreweries, restaurants and a vineyard, there are many annual events for foodies. Sherbrooke is one food event after another!

Sherbrooke t’en bouche un coin is a foodie get-together in the Parc Jacques-Cartier combining gourmet food, drinks and music over its three delicious days. Bouffe ton Centro is an event in the downtown core where you can taste local foods while enjoying the shopping in the heart of the city. The Festival des Traditions du Monde celebrates culinary culture from abroad, letting your taste buds travel to the four corners of the world. Finally, Sherbrooke Restaurant Week brings together restaurants from across the city offering exclusive meals at reasonable prices. Makes you hungry, doesn’t it?

Off to the Market

At Sherbrooke's Marché de la Gare, many local products are found under one roof! During the warmer months, an outdoor farmers market sells fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses and other regional products. You can talk one-on-one with passionate producers who will happily tell you about the story behind their products!

While at the Marché, enjoy delicious gelatos and sorbets at Savoroso. You can enjoy them on the Lac-des-Nations Boardwalk! Some say they are the best iced products in the region… up to you to say!
