Source of power, mechanic at first and then hydroelectric, the Magog River Gorge has always been the heart of Sherbrooke’s development. It is located in the city centre, near Sherbrooke’s three museums and is a link to the well known Promenade du Lac des nations. Enjoy a panoramic view of the city at the several lookouts scattered throughout the gorge. Take some time to have a picnic on the terrace of the Frontenac Power Station and celebrate its 100th anniversary by visiting the oldest hydroelectric power station still in use in Québec!

Secteur Paton-Frontenac
Trough an accessible infrastructure that travels around the river, the Secteur Paton-Frontenac path introduces the visitors within the heart of an amazing natural land formation. 
 
Two points of access exist which are the Factories Door on Frontenac Street and an entry on Richmond Street.
 
Promenade des Rapides (The Illuminated Path)
The design of the Magog River’s illuminated path underlines the natural and magnificient character of this pedestrian walkway linking the lac des Nations to the city center of Sherbrooke. In the heart of the city, the Magog River Gorge promenade offers a deligthful night stroll in nature with its artistic lighting. The lighted path will guide your steps as you marvel at the illuminated landscape around you. The incredible strength of the water accentuated by the dynamic lighting renders the majesty of the river.
 
Two points of access, the Science Door near the Musée de la nature et des sciences and the Artists Door next to the Musée des beaux-arts de Sherbrooke, have been masterfully created in order to easily access the site and take advantage of the landscape sculpted by the river along the promenade de la Gorge.
