In the heart of the Magog River Gorge, proudly sits the Frontenac Power Station, Québec’s oldest hydroelectricity facility still operational. Visit the brand new interactive exhibit titled “La ville électrique” (The Electric City); a journey through time and history to discover how electricity came to Sherbrooke and understand how a power station functions. Also, take some time to discover the fresco mural named “100 ans au service des gens” (100 years at your service) which was created in 2008 to commemorate the centennial of the municipalisation of electricity in Sherbrooke. This mural has been painted by MURIRS and is part of Sherbrooke’s fresco murals tour.
Closed at the summer of 2011 for major renovation.
This exhibit is realised by the Sherbrooke Historical Society.
