As the Seasons go by

Renaissance printanière

Spring brings about revival and in Sherbrooke, nature wakes up to become a nature lover’s delight. While ornithology aficionados will enjoy the diversity of the fauna in the Marais Réal-D. Carbonneau (Réal-D. Carbonneau Marsh) or the Bois Beckett, the Marché de la gare highlights the opening of the maple season. And why not head to the city center to enjoy the warm spring sun on one of Sherbrooke’s terraces?

Sherbrooke comes alive in the summer! Take full advantage of the sunny days and partake in the cultural burst in the city by attending the Concerts de la cité or the musical presentations every weekend at the Marché de la gare. And do not forget our many celebrations and festivals throughout the summer!

A summer stay in Sherbrooke would not be complete without experiencing the Omaterra comedy show, a “splashing” water adventure; or boarding the Orford Express tourist train, a quality meal and a scenic adventure. Whether you are keen on culture and heritage, sports and outdoor activities or culinary experiences, discovering Sherbrooke in the summer will not disappoint.

Colours, tastes and a breath of fresh air, here are what you can expect from Sherbrooke in fall! Once you have toured the streets of downtown Sherbrooke with the Balado.tv video tour, discovered Sherbrooke’s fresco murals with our Fresco Murals Tour and visited the Old-North Ward with the Old-North Ward audio guide, find out what the merchants have to offer in the downtown area! Actually, the best way to discover Sherbrooke in autumn is by taking one of its many walking or hiking paths.

And since fall is synonymous of harvest, visit the local markets and producers and make a stop at the Halte des Pèlerins vineyard where the time is ripe for grape harvest!

Celebrations, nature, outdoor and culinary experiences sum up the multitude of activities Sherbrooke has to offer in the winter. Let the spirit of Christmas overtake you in December, the Marché de Noël (Christmas Market) and a stroll in the Gorge illuminée de la rivière Magog (Illuminated Path along the Magog River) in the evening will not fail to amaze you. After an afternoon of skating on the frozen pond at the Domaine Howard or on the Lac-des-Nation skating path, make a stop in one of our local microbreweries before heading to one of Sherbrooke’s finest restaurant to treat yourself to a culinary experience and warm up after a full day of winter adventures.
